This should have been a flop. Yet why am I still shaking.

If your fortunate to have landed a copy of Psycho 2, I must be respectful to the public audience and warn you: your in for a big surprise. The prose is simple and efficent, Bloch dosen't bother with tantilising us with un-neccessary diolouge- everything that's in this book is there for a reason and every sentence has an alterior motive. I'm am 17 years old and I cant help asking, why dosen't anyone know who Bloch is. He's a mascot of writers past. He has influenced many writers ( McDonald, King, Straub) and myself. This is a fantastic book, very enjoyable and totally unpredicatable. Why was it never adapted for film? Bloch at his best.

Well, I dont really know what to say. It is certainly much larger than the first book, but it doesnt get many more good points than that. It has a good begining that gets you wanting to read more and more, but in between the first few chapters and the end, it talks about hollywood life ... I kept reading because I thought it was going somewhere, but I was wrong. The begining and the end were good, but the 3hundred pages or so in between were just awefull. I only recomend it if you are a die hard Robert Bloch fan.

Not Like the Movie

Surprisingly this book has nothing in common with the movie "Psycho II" other than the title. I was glad, because I didn't enjoy this at all and that is rare for me to dislike something by Robert Bloch. It's a most forgettable book. It's good to obtain to see what it's like. But for entertainment purposes, I'd watch the movie instead. The movie takes us back to the Bates Motel with Norman getting out of the mental hospital after many years. And that's what we expect when we hear "Psycho II". Not this.

Excellent Introductory Text

This text has provided me with an excellent grounding in the field of ecofeminism. The selection of essays included provide a nice range of the various ways ecofeminism is represented in the disciplines and used politically in society. The essays themselves are very clearly written and I found their bibliographies especially helpful in leading me to other more specific sources on the particular foci within this umbrella topic.

In particular, I really valued the inclusion of the following selections: Ecofeminism through an Anticolonial Framework (interesting critique of general feminism and a nice example of a politically motivated piece); Ecofeminist Literary Criticism (great bibliography and linkage to other theoretical pieces); and Androcentrism and Anthrpocentrism.

I would definitely recommend this text to anyone wanting an introductory overview of ecofeminism.

This is an excellent book for anyone interested in ecofeminist theory. It contains a collection of essays by various authors on ecological problems and how those problems are linked to the oppression of minorities.It contains empirical data to back claims and provides a clear convincing argument for the movement.

A very important, overdue subject that is well covered

I found Mr. Carter's subject extremely interesting and overdue.
His research appears thorough and his arguments very convincing without appearing patronizing or annoying in a `tree hugging - hippie greeny' way. On the contrary, I found his style very level headed and convincing even to a cynic of the green movement.
My only problem with the style is that, as a lay person, I found the technical and political aspects a bit hard to get my head around at times. However, working too many night shifts was probably the reason for that.
My thanks to Mr. Carter for this important work!
PS Please publish a cheaper soft cover version so more can afford and read it.

Expansion on 'Analytical Anarchism'

Carter's book 'A Radical Green Political Theory' is a fully fleshed out articulation of his anarchist argument expanding (and often opposing) G.A. Cohen's Karl Marx's Theory of History. Although the book is presented as a piece of eco-theory it is primarily a well thought out anarchist argument. Using some of the essential framework that Cohen laid out thirty years prior, Carter makes a good case for identifying 'the state' as a serious culprit in the failings of modern society in relation to the environment but also more broadly. He addresses the common Marxist error of discounting the importance of the state by showing that it does hold an explanatory role.

All in all a very good book. If you are not familiar with some of Cohen's arguments from Karl Marx's Theory of History you might have a hard time following in some areas.

About the Author

Wendell Odom, CCIE No. 1624 (Emeritus), has been in the networking industry since 1981. He has worked as a network engineer, consultant, systems engineer, instructor, and course developer; he currently works writing and creating certification study tools. This book is his 27th edition of some product for Pearson, and he is the author of all editions of the CCNA R&S and CCENT Cert Guides from Cisco Press. He has written books about topics from networking basics, certification guides throughout the years for CCENT, CCNA R&S, CCNA DC, CCNP ROUTE, CCNP QoS, and CCIE R&S. The information is concise and to the point.

As always, Wendell Odom's CCNA book set is the one to turn to for any CCNA exam. I run a training company that teaches 15 - 20 people in CCNA courses a month and these are the books that we always hand out with the course. The information is concise and to the point. Everything that you need to know for your CCNA exam is contained in these books. Don't forget to practice with hands on labs as well.

Best CCNA book I've seen yet!

Great book! Very well written. The books are large but they way that they've devided chapters into parts makes this easy to digest. You can "do i know this already quizzes" at the beginning of each chapter to determine the amount of time you need to spend reading the chapter or skipping over it if need be. This allows you learn what you don't know and sharpen what you already know? i've already been able to either test out of chapters or skim over them. The books are literally designed to help ensure good study habits and build crucial skills needed to pass the exams and apply skills learned to real life. I can't put this book down it's that good! However....I feel like this product over hypes the labs...they are about worthless. The book set deserves 5 stars. The labs are less than stellar. I would suggest looking of CCNA work book and getting a free version of packet tracer. Combined with those you'll be able to get more from the book than just the lite versions of the labs I suspect.

Excelente como libro de consulta, referencia o material académico

El título del libro resume perfectamente y con total fidelidad el contenido del mismo: es la descripción de la historia de la economía desde sus orígenes en el neolítico hasta nuestros días, incluyendo un epílogo en el que el autor da alguna pincelada personal sobre el futuro de la economía. Ése es de hecho el único fragmento del libro donde hay una aportación personal y una opinión. En el resto del libro se explica la historia de la economía. No se narra, no se relata, no se cuenta. No es una historia novelada ni escrita en primera o tercera persona. Es simplemente la descripción de los hechos desde un punto de vista económico y cómo ha evolucionado. Hay numerosas referencias a eruditos e historiadores, citando fuentes y estudios para apoyar lo descrito.
El libro en mi opinión está más orientado al entorno académico (como libro de consulta, referencia o material de estudio) que al público en general. Aquellos que busquen una historia de la economía contada de manera amena o en forma de novela no llegarán a acabar el libro. Aquéllos que busquen sin embargo un libro detallado, completo y con información contrastada, verán cumplidas sus expectativas.
A mi personalmente me ha enseñado mucho, porque me tomé su lectura como un curso de historia económica a distancia.
